COST FIGURES ARE INDICATIVE ONLY AND VARY BY AGENCY, REGION AND SALE PRICE.

One thing worth saying plainly: private buyers pay for speed, certainty and as-is condition, not top retail dollar. If the highest possible price through a public campaign matters most to you, listing is the better route, and we will tell you so.

How it works

Four steps, and you stay in control of every one.

  1. Share the details and one front photo

The address or just the suburb, the basics of the property, your price expectation and your timing. Photos and documents are optional, but they are what carry an enquiry through to investor review, so add what you have. Nothing is published anywhere.

  2. We review the fit

Your property is checked against current buyer criteria. You hear back within 48 hours with a first response, whichever way it lands.

  3. You decide what happens next

If it looks like a fit, we contact you first. Your details are only shared with interested parties if you have given permission, and there is no obligation at any point.

Who this suits

Built for owners the listed market treats badly.

  • Estates and executors. A respectful, quiet process without the family home going on display.
  • Landlords with tenants in place. No parade of viewings, and often the tenancy simply continues.
  • Homes that need work. Condition becomes part of an honest price, not a reason to be turned away.
  • Owners testing the water. Find out what a private buyer would discuss. It costs nothing to ask.
  • People who value a quiet street. No signboard, no portal listing, no neighbourhood commentary.
  • Sellers who need certainty. When speed and a clean settlement matter more than chasing the last dollar.
  • Moving on a deadline. A new job or a move away, when the sale has to keep pace with life.
  • Another home in sight. When buying your next place hinges on selling this one, speed matters.
  • Relationship separations. A clean, private sale that lets both people move forward sooner.
  • Downsizers and retirees. A gentler step to the next chapter, without a campaign running through it.
  • Overseas and out-of-town owners. Sell a property you are not there to manage, handled remotely and quietly.
  • Previously listed, did not sell. A fresh, private route after the campaign that went nowhere.

Questions

The questions every sensible owner asks.

Is Private Buyers a real estate agency?

No. Private Buyers is not a licensed real estate agency, a valuation service, or a promise to buy. Submitting a property starts a private review only, and a response is not an offer. We recommend your own solicitor reviews anything before you sign it.

What does it cost me?

Nothing. No commission, no marketing charge, no fee to enquire or be reviewed. If a sale proceeds you cover your own side's normal costs, such as your solicitor, exactly as in any sale.

What is the catch?

Reach. A listed campaign puts your property in front of every buyer in the market; the private route puts it in front of ours. If maximum exposure matters more than privacy, speed and cost, listing may serve you better. Many owners try private first because it costs nothing to find out.

How can you respond within 48 hours?

Because the first review is a fit check, not a valuation. Your property is compared against current buyer criteria: location, type, condition and price expectation. A no is a review outcome, not a judgement on your property or its value.

Who are the buyers?

Private individuals and entities within the Private Buyers Property Group, plus selected interested parties. Your details are only shared if the property fits and you have ticked that specific permission in the form. Nothing moves without it.

What if my property is currently listed with an agency?

Tell us in the form, there is a box for exactly this. Agency agreements can affect how a private approach works, so we take extra care, confirm your situation with you first, and make sure nothing cuts across what you have already signed.

What happens to my information?

It is reviewed privately and never published. The form includes a plain-English privacy summary you acknowledge before submitting, and you can have your information corrected or removed at any time via enquiry@privatebuyers.co.nz.

STEP 01 / 06The property

The property

Start with the property itself. A street address helps most, but suburb-level is fine if you would rather keep it general for now.

Start typing your address and pick the match, the suburb fills itself. If privacy matters, the suburb or town alone is fine, the exact address can follow after first contact.

Sale & condition

What a private sale would need to look like for you, and anything a serious buyer should know up front. Honest notes speed up review.

Price and timing

Roughly what would make a private sale worth discussing. A range or ballpark is fine, this is a starting point, not a commitment.
